![]() Drizzt is not just a one directional, unsurprising and rather unchallenging character, but a multi faceted gem being cut into dazzling brilliance by each physical, emotional and even (and I hate this word personally) spiritual conflict. Now, with these last series of books, it seems as though RAS has discovered that there is room for an adult audience for these books. The lack of adult situations and interactions left it feeling entirely to. No offence, but the sanitary nature of his earlier books, although all well written, left most of us adult wandering what sort of passionless world these characters inhabited. ![]() Wow, beginning with Guntelgrym you get the impression RA Salvatore suddenly decided that perhaps the forgotten realms should be opened to more than a few teenage geeks. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In a world where social prestige derives from a trifecta of blood, money, and magic, one girl has the ability to break the spell that holds the social order in place. ![]() The thrilling first book in a YA fantasy trilogy for fans of Red Queen. ![]() That being said, I really enjoyed this book and I think Rosalyn will have great success with her debut! Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves I’m so happy I waited because when I read books at busy times, I tend to put them off for long stretches and I forget points of plot or characters, which is never a good thing! I won this book way back in December and only until recently I have had a good solid amount of time to read it. I’ll never forget seeing the word WINNER in all caps ever! I read the email and got all happy and giddy, I had finally won something! So with my mind on books, I missed the rest of my math lesson. And one of those giveaways was for an ARC of one of my most anticipated reads of 2017, Blood Rose Rebellionby Rosalyn Eves! Just imagine, I was sitting in my Advanced Functions class, bored out of my mind (practically falling asleep) when I decided to check my email. It was one of the best weeks of 2016 for me. So I had this week in my life where I won three giveaways. ![]() ![]() ![]() Do not engage in hate speech, harassment, arguing in bad faith, sealioning, or general pot stirring. The third was green throughout, and so were the casements. ![]() The second chamber was purple in its ornaments and tapestries, and here the panes were purple. That at the eastern extremity was hung, for example, in blue – and vividly blue were its windows. These windows were of stained glass whose color varied in accordance with the prevailing hue of the decorations of the chamber into which it opened. To the right and left, in the middle of each wall, a tall and narrow Gothic window looked out upon a closed corridor which pursued the windings of the suite. There was a sharp turn at every twenty or thirty yards, and at each turn a novel effect. The apartments were so irregularly disposed that the vision embraced but little more than one at a time. Here the case was very different as might have been expected from the duke’s love of the bizarre. In many palaces, however, such suites form a long and straight vista, while the folding doors slide back nearly to the walls on either hand, so that the view of the whole extent is scarcely impeded. ![]() |
